Description of key information

The mean surface tension of the substance in a 90 % saturated solution was determined from triplicate samples to be 70.2 dynes/cm (mN/m) with a standard deviation of 0.256 dyne/cm (mN/m) at a temperature range of 21.0 to 21.1 ºC. Since the surface tension of the substance was found to be greater than 60 dyne/cm (mN/m), it is not considered to be a surface-active substance.
