Description of key information

The substance is not highly flammable.
The substance has no pyrophoric properties and does not liberate flammable gases in contact with water.
The substance is not a self-heating substance or mixture.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

The substance is not a readily combustible solid in the sense of Guideline 92/69/EEC, test A. 10.

The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as pyrophoric as the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperaturefor prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied.

The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as a substance which in contact with water emit flammable gases as the experience in production or handling shows that the substance does not react with water.

The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as a self-heating substance as throughout the whole manufacturing process and life cycle, the substance accumulates only in aqueous solution. Since the self-heating properties do not apply to liquids, it is possible to dispense with a further investigation according to the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria UN N.4.

Justification for classification or non-classification

In accordance with Annex I, Section 2.1, Section 2.2, Section 2.3, Section 2.7, Section 2.9, Section 2.10 Section 2.11, Section 2.12 of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and UN GHS Rev 6 (2015) the substance has not to be classified as readily combustible solid in class 4 Division 4.1, self-heating substance in Class 4 Division 4.2, substances which in contact with water emit flammable gases in Class 4 Division 4.3, pyrophoric liquid, pyrophoric solid in class 4 Division 4.2, flammable gases in class 2 or as aerosol in class 2.
