First-aid measures

General advice: If symptoms persist, call a doctor.

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If symptoms persist, call a doctor.

Skin contact: Wash off immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If skin irritation persists, call a doctor. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

Eye Contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Keep eye wide open while rinsing. If symptoms persist, call a doctor.

Ingestion: Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. Do NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Call a doctor.

Self-protection of the first aider: Use personal protective equipment as required.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable Extinguishing Media:

Use. Carbon dioxide (CO2). Extinguishing powder. Alcohol resistant foam. Cool containers with flooding quantities of water until well after fire is out.

Unsuitable Extinguishing Media:

Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:

Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. Do not allow entering drains or surface water Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.

Hazardous combustion products:

Nitrogen oxides (NOx), Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide (CO 2), and phosphorus oxides.

Advice for firefighters:

In the event of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes. Use water spray jet to protect personnel and to cool endangered containers. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit. Use personal protective equipment as required. Do not allow run-off from fire-fighting to enter drains or water courses.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:

Use personal protective equipment as required. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak. Special danger of slipping by leaking/spilling product. Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas. Do not breathe gas/fumes/vapour/spray.

Environmental precautions:

Prevent entry into waterways, sewers, basements or confined areas. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Prevent product from entering drains.

Methods for Containment: Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.

Methods for cleaning up: Use personal protective equipment as required. Dam up. Cover liquid spill with sand, earth or other non-combustible absorbent material. Pick up and transfer to properly labelled containers.

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling:

Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas. Use personal protective equipment as required. Use with local exhaust ventilation. Do not breathe gas/fumes/vapour/spray. In case of gas escape or of entry into waterways, soil or drains, inform the responsible authorities. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing.

General hygiene considerations:

When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Regular cleaning of equipment, work area and clothing is recommended.

Storage Conditions:

Keep out of the reach of children. Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Keep in properly labelled containers.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering controls: Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Eye/face: Protection Wear safety glasses with side shields (or goggles).

Hand protection: Wear protective gloves. To protect the wearer, gloves must be the correct fit and be used properly. Ensure that the breakthrough time of the glove material is not exceeded. Refer to glove supplier for information on breakthrough time for specific gloves.

Skin and Body Protection: Suitable protective clothing. Wear protective gloves. To protect the wearer, gloves must be the correct fit and be used properly. Ensure that the breakthrough time of the glove material is not exceeded. Refer to glove supplier for information on breakthrough time for specific gloves. Gloves must conform to standard EN 374.

Respiratory protection: None under normal use conditions.

Environmental exposure controls: Do not allow into any sewer, on the ground or into any body of water.

Stability and reactivity

Chemical stability: Stable under normal conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: None under normal processing.

Incompatible materials: Incompatible with oxidising agents. Acids. Bases.

Hazardous decomposition products:

Thermal decomposition can lead to release of irritating and toxic gases and vapours. Carbon dioxide (CO2). Carbon monoxide. Nitrogen oxides (NOx). Phosphorus oxides.

Disposal considerations

Waste from residues/unused products:

Disposal should be in accordance with applicable regional, national and local laws and regulations.

Contaminated packaging:

Contaminated packages must be completely emptied and can be re-used following proper cleaning. Clean IBCs or drums at approved facility. Packing which cannot be properly cleaned must be disposed of. Handle contaminated packages in the same way as the substance itself.
