Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

oxidising solids
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the inorganic substance does not contain any oxygen or halogen atoms and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied

Description of key information

According to the column 2 of the annex VII section 7.13 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), the study does not need to be conducted if the substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials, for example on the basis of the chemical substance (e.g. inorganic substances not containing oxygen or halogen atoms). Since Zinc cyanide does not contain oxygen, fluorine or chlorine, it does not react with flammable substances and does not react with exothermic substances. Therefore this is subject to exemption.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
