Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
From March 26, 2020 to April 22, 2020
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
UN Manual of Tests and Criteria: Test N.1 (Test method for readily combustible solids)

Phenomena and results from two independent preliminary screening tests, were identical as following:

-the sample was ignited within 2 min;

-after removal of ignition, the sample didn't propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the train within the 2 min.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
According to UN Manual of Tests and Criteria: Test N.1, CR SB3A is not a highly flammable solid. Therefore, CR SB3A was not met GHS criteria.
Executive summary:

The flammability properties of CR SB3A was determined according to UN Manual of Tests and Criteria: Test N.1. In preliminary screening test, CR SB3A could not be ignited within 2 minutes; after removal of ignition, the sample didn't propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the train within the 2 min. Therefore, CR SB3A is not classified as flammable solid.

Description of key information

CR SB3A is not classified as flammable solids (UN Test N.1).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

In preliminary screening test, CR SB3A could not be ignited within 2 minutes. Therefore, CR SB3A is not classified as flammable solid.
