The aqueous solution of the test item has a mean surface tension of 67.4 mN/m. According to Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008 Part A. Method A.5 substances showing a surface tension lower than 60 mN/m under the conditions of method A.5 should be regarded as being surface active materials. Thus, the test item is not regarded as surface active material.

Conclusions:
The mean surface tension of the test item is 67.4 mN/m at 20 °C.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted according to EU-Method A.5 and OECD Guideline 115 to determine the surface tension of an aqueous solution of the test item using the ring method. Due to the high water solubility a solution with a concentration of 1.061 g/L was prepared and measured twice. The mean surface tension of the test item was determined to be 67.4 mN/m at 20 °C.

Description of key information
