Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
relative density
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2019
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
study well documented, meets generally accepted scientific principles, acceptable for assessment
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Density and specific gravity were obtained by placing a 8 ml of sample in a graduated cylinder and measuring volume changes at the given temperatures.
Bias and Std. Deviation: Although a formal error investigation has not been performed, the average and standard deviation of the test is estimated to be 0.99 g/ml with a Std. Dev. of 0.007 at 70°F and 0.98 g/ml with a Std Dev. of 0.007 at 130°F for a water sample.
GLP compliance:
not specified
Type of method:
pycnometer method

Conclusions:
The test item has a density of 0.84 g/ml at 70°F (21.1°C) and 0.85 g/ml at 70°F (21.1°C)
Executive summary:

PC-206 Intermediate has a density of 0.90 g/ml at 70°F (21.1°C) and 0.87 g/ml at 130°F (54.4°C).
