Description of key information

GLP study reporting EL50 (48 h) > 1000 mg/L (OECD 202)
Non-GLP study reporting EC50 (48 h) as 2.7 mL/L
GLP study for a close structural analogue reporting EC50 (48 h) > 1000 mg/L when expressed in terms of loading rate and EC50 (48 h) > 2.38 mg/L when expressed in terms of measured calcium (OECD 202)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water invertebrates

Fresh water invertebrates
Effect concentration:
1 000 mg/L

Additional information

Methodological deficiencies in a non-GLP study render the results unreliable for use in risk assessment or classification. However, a modern GLP investigation found no evidence of acute toxicity to Daphnia magna and the NOEC was 1000 mg/L. These data are supported by the results of a GLP investigation involving a close structural analogue of the test substance.
