Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: water spray jet, foam, dry powder

Special hazards from the substance itself, its combustion products or from its vapours: In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are fromed: carbon monoxide (CO), Nitrous gases (NOx), sulfur oxides (SOx)

Special protective for fire fighting: Use self-contained breathing apparatus

Further information: Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Wear suitable personal protective equipment. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Remove persons to safety.

Environmental precautions: Do not allow entry to drains, water courses or soil

Methods for cleaning up/taking up: Take up mechanically; Clean contaminated floors thoroughly, observing environmental regulations. Containers in which spilt substance has been collected must be adequately labelled.

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling: Avoid dust formation. Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Observe the general rules of industrial fire protection. Keep away from sources of ignition. Take precautions against accumulation of electrostatic charge- earthing necessary during loading operations. Dust can form an explosive mixture with air.

Based on the knowledge of the basic hazards to humans and environment technical, organizational and PPE measures are taken to minimize release and exposure of this substance. National regulatory requirements for the handling of chemicals are also fulfilled. Employees are regularly trained. The efficiency of these measures is controlled e.g. by workplace measurements. In case of deviations these measures are adapted.

General protective measures: Do not inhale dust. Avoid contact with eyes and skin

Hygiene measures: Keep away from foodstuffs and beverages. Wash hands before breaks and after work.

Respiratory protection: Dust mask

Hand protection: Nitrile rubber gloves.

Eye protection: saftey glasses

Body protection: working clothes

Stability and reactivity

Stable under recommended storage and handling conditions

Materials to avoid: Strong oxidants.
