Description of key information

The 24h-EC50 of the substance in Daphnia magna is > maximum solubility of the substance in test medium.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The toxicity to aquatic invertebrates was examined in a study according to OECD TG 202 (1984) and in compliance with GLP criteria. Groups of daphnids (2 replicates of 10) were exposed to test item concentrations of 0 (control), 1000 mg/L filtered (i.e. saturated solution), and 1000 mg/L unfiltered (i.e. supersaturated solution) for 24 hours under static conditions. No test substance analysis was performed. After the exposure period, a 15% immobility (3/20) in the saturated solution and no immobility (0/20) in the supersaturated solution was oberved. Based on these findings, the 24h-EC50 in Daphnia magna was determined to be higher than the limit of solubility in test medium at a nominal loading rate of 1000 mg/L.
