The test procedure described in 92/69/EEC, method A.17 need not be carried out when examination of the structural formula established beyond reasonable doubt that the substance has no oxidising properties. The test substance contains one oxygen atom which is only bonded to carbon. The oxygen balance is -194. Therefore oxidizing properties of "STI571 F8" are unlikely.
