Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Executive summary:

Methodology-

Determination of Freezing Temperature
The freezing point was determined using the Ultra-Low Cryostat Bath instrument. A quantity of 20mL test item was filled in a test tube and placed in the bath of apparatus. A calibrated digital thermometer with sensor was kept into the test tube for the determination of the crystallizing point (freezing point). The sample was stirred gently and continuously during cooling, and the temperature was read and recorded for every decrement of 2 °C. The temperature at which complete solidification of the test item was observed, was recorded as the crystallizing point or freezing point.
The experiment was carried out in three replications. The mean value was reported with the standard
deviation

Results

The mean freezing temperature of Finester 2009 was -18.8 ± 0.2 °C.
