Description of key information

In bobwhite quail, the acute oral LD50 was 510 mg/kg body weight and the NOEL was <316 mg/kg body weight. In short term dietary studies, the 8-day LD50’s for bobwhite quail and mallard duck were >567 and >1550 mg/kg b.w./day, respectively.  The NOEC values for quail and mallards were 205 and 806 mg/kg b.w./day for quail and mallard, respectively. In a one-generation reproduction study in bobwhite quail, statistically significant differences in mean day 14 hatchling body weights were noted in the 75 and 180 mg/kg treatment groups. These were not considered to be treatment-related findings, however, because the next highest treatment group was not affected. The reproductive NOEL was 22.5 mg/kg b.w./day.  In a one-generation reproduction study in mallard duck, the reproductive NOEL was 24.3 mg/kg b.w./day.

The acute LD50 for earthworms is 250 mg/kg dry soil. Myclobutanil was also shown to not bioaccumulate in earthworms with a calculated bioconcentration factor of 0.46.

Myclobutanil had no effect on carbon mineralization and nitrogen transformation at an application of 0.756 mg/kg dry soil.
