PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The substance is readily biodegradable based on experimental study (see Point 5 Enviromental fate and pathways) therefore, it is not persistent.

The screening criteria based on Annex III of REACH for bioaccumulation has been applied. An evaluation of the bioaccumulation potential of Fatty acids, C16-C18(even numbered) methyl esters, chlorinated is presented under the point 5.3 indicating that bioaccumulation is expected to be low. Considering the ready biodegradability, low Kow and estimaed BCF/BAF values, this substance is likely to show low bioaccumulation potential. Based on the above information, Fatty acids, C16-C18(even numbered) methyl esters, chlorinated does not meet the Bioaccumulative (B) or very Bioaccumulative (vB) criteria.

Based on reported studies the substance is not toxic.
