Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Physico-chemical properties were mostly determined from experimental testing, except Vapour Pressure and Water Solubility that were calculated from QSAR. Some endpoints were waived, based on chemical structure of the substance or on experience in handling and use of the substance.

The substance is a light yellow translucent liquid, visually lowly viscous at ambient temperature. Sligthly soluble in water with no expected surface active property, it has a density closely to that of water and a low volatility.

The substance is NOT classified as flammable liquid based on both Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP regulation) and GHS. No other hazard was identified with regard to physical properties (flammability, explosivity, oxidising properties, self-reactive, self-heating,organic peroxide) based on Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP regulation).

Waived based on physical state (liquid). Flamm. solids study technically not feasible. Please refer to Flash Point for liquid.

Waived based on experience in handling and use and chemical structure of the substance. NOT flammable if contact with air.

Waived based on experience in handling, use and testing and on chemical structure of the substance. NOT flammable in contact with  water.

Waived based on physical state. Study scientifically not necessary as the substance is liquid. The surface of liquids is not large enough for reaction with air. Liquids, unless adsorbed, are not classified as self-heating. Moreover, the chemical structure does not contain metals/metalloids, which are typically self-heating substances.

Explosive properties

(data Waiving)

Waived based on the chemical structure of the substance.

NO potential for explosive properties

Oxidising properties

(data Waiving)

Waived based on the chemical structure of the substance.

NO potential for oxidizing properties.

Self-reactive substances

(data Waiving)

Waived based on the absence of reactive groups in the chemical structure of the substance.

NO potential for self-reactive properties.

Organic Peroxide

(data Waiving)

Waived based on the absence of  structural alerts (absence of O-O bonds).

NOT an organic peroxide.
