Administrative data
First-aid measures
air and keep at rest.
In the case of inhalation of powder consult a physician if
necessary.
Emergency measure - Eyes: In case of contact with eyes, wash immediately with plenty
of water and seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Skin: In case of contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty
of water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: If a person vomits when lying on his back, place him in a
recovery position.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Drink
water as a precaution.
Call a physician immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
Product arising from burning: Sulphur dioxide.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Use self-contained breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
necessary use respiratory protection, wear suitable gloves
and eye protection (see point 2.3.00).
Provide ventilation to spill area.
To absorbe spillage use mechanical handling equipment. Pick
for disposal in tightly closed containers. Do not allow to
enter into sewers or waterways. If necessary contaminated
clothing must be disposed separatly. After collection of the
spillage, the contaminated area has to be well ventilated
and cleaned.
Handling and storage
inhalation of the substance is excluded and skin and eye
contact are as low as possible. The substance should only
be handled in closed plant or systems. During filling and
sampling closed equipment or equipment with local exhaust
ventilation have to be used. If local exhaust ventilation is
not possible or not sufficient, effective dust masks (i.e.
P3) must be worn. To avoid skin and eye contact suitable
gloves (i.e. Lapren<< 706) and personal protective suit
according to EN 340, 463, 468, 943-1, 943-2 and eye
protection (i.e. safety glasses with side-shields) must be
worn. According to experience the following activities are
involved: maintenance and repair, weighing and sampling
activities, filling and transport as well as cleaning work.
Storage: Keep the substance only in the original container.
Keep container tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-
ventilated place.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Plastic flask: 1 liter wide necked flasks or in 5 kg as well
as 20 kg cans.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Stability and reactivity
contact with acids liberates toxic gas.
Chemical reaction with water: No chemical reaction with water was observed during the
development phase, the production process and the
purification process.
Dust explosion: During processing formation of an explosive mixture in air
cannot be excluded.
Dust explosion determined by test: N
