First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to a well ventilated area. Seek immediate
medical advice.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water or eye-wash saline solution for
10-15 minutes. Seek immediate medical advice.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of soap and water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Foam, carbon dioxide and dry powder may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and
sulfur together with metal oxide smoke.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and a self-contained-breathing
apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1).

Sweep up spilt material and transfer to tightly sealed metal
containers. Use sodium bicarbonate as a neutralising
chemical. Wash spill site with water.

Dispose of waste at an approved landfill site or incinerator
in accordance with local regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic
chemicals. Ensure adequate ventilation. Protective clothing,
chemical-resistant gloves and safety goggles or a face
shield should be worn. Protective equipment should conform
to national or international standards.

Storage: Store in tightly closed containers in a cool dry well
ventilated place. Protect from light. Keep away from

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with
inert material (eg. sand) may be disposed of by landfill at
an authorised tip in accordance with local regulations.
(A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration at a
suitable facility. Waste gas treatment to remove sulfur
oxides should be fitted. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The neat substance should not normally be discharged
directly to the sewage system or the aqueous environment.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from printed material is not possible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Printed material may be disposed of as for domestic waste.
