Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move into fresh air. After signigicant exposure seek medical
advice.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with water.
Emergency measure - Skin: Rinse immediately with soap and plenty of water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: If conscious drink plenty of water. For severe cases seek
medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: water, CO2, foam, dry powder

Product arising from burning: water, CO2, CO, aldehydes, ketones, organic acids

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: self-contained breathing apparatus

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Dam up. Take up with inert absorbent material (f.e. sand,
kieselgur, universal binder, sawdust). After collecting
flush residues away with water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Wear protective goggles and suitable gloves (neoprene or

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The recovery of the substance from refrigerant from air
condition systems of discharged automobiles is not feasable
on a commercial scale. The recovered refrigerant/lubricant
mixture could be recycled as fuel.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: no neutralization necessary since the substance shows no
hazardous effects.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: observe local regulations

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: preferred distruction. No need for special measures.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: There is no need for special treatment of waste water.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: not possible (see 6.1.1)

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: not applicable

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: dispose refrigerant as chemical waste according to local
regulations.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: preferred destruction: Local authorities should decide on
this. No need for special instructions.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: refrigerant should not be desposed of by the local drains.
