Additional information

The registered substance, though classified as dangerous to the environment, the substance is not considered to be an environmental hazard. As the substance is neither manufactured or imported into the EU in its monomeric form. Exposure to the environment is considered unlikely. On this basis it was considered inappropriate to calculate PNECs.

Conclusion on classification

Short term toxicity to fish: Palmer SJ et al (2005) 96 hour LC50 6.2 mg/L

Short term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates: Palmer SJ et al (2005) 48 hour LC50 1.4 mg/L

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria: Desjardins D et al (2005) 96 hour EC50 >10 mg/L

 

In accordance with regulation EC No. 1272/2008 the substance is classified as Chronic category 2 H411 Toxic to aquatic life with longlasting effects. Accordingly under the directive 67/548/EEC, the substance fulfils the criteria for Toxic to aquatic organisms and R53 May cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment.
