Description of key information

Flash points of the two main organic constituents are: 111 and 138C.

According to the criteria for adaptation of the testing rules, a flash point determination is not required for inorganic substances  - therefore a flash point for the sodium acetate component is not required.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
111 °C

Additional information

The lowest of the key values is chosen as a conservative estimate of the flash point of this multicomponent substance. The most volatile component would be expected to be the dominant determinant of the flash point. Sodium acetate, as an inorganic substance, will have no contribution towards flash point determination (the end point is waived for inorganics) and can therefore be ignored for determining the critical value for this end point.
