Additional information

For L-Glutamic acid, an analogue substance, there was no toxicity observed towards aquatic invertebrates, aquatic plants or fish. For monosodium glutamate also no toxicity was observed to algae and taking into consideration the similar structure and physicochemical properties daphnia and fish toxicity can be read across from L-glutamic acid.
