Four ecotoxicilogical tests concerning the aqatic toxicity were performed according to the official EU methods stated in the Council Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, published in O.J.L 142, 2008, resp. in Commission Regulation (EC) No. 761/2009.

Experimental results are available for:

1/ Fish (Poecilia reticulata)

2/ Invertebrates (Daphnia magna)

3/ Algae (Desmodesmus subspicatus)

4/ Microorganisms (activated sludge of a predominantly domestic sewage)

Acute toxicity testing in fish, daphnia and algae indicate a low order of toxicity with effect concentrations > 100 mg/L (nominal concentration).

The following results were obtained in acute tests:

1/ Fish (Poecillia reticulata): LL50 (96 hours) > 100 mg/L

2/ Daphnia magna: EL50 (48 hours) > 100 mg/L

3/ Algae (Desmodesmus subspicatus): ErL50 (72 hours) and EyL50 (72 hours) > 100 mg/L

Respiration of activated sludge is not inhibited at the test substance concentration > 1000 mg/L.

The substance -  Reaction product of Distillates (petroleum), acid-treated heavy naphthenic and calcium oxide - can be considered as the substance with no toxic or harmful effects.
