The substance 4'-methylacetophenone was readily biodegradable in a valid closed bottle test (Müller 1999) and a modified MITI test (NITE 2001). It is therefore expected to be rapidly biodegradable and non-persistent in the aquatic and terrestrial environment. Further testing on biodegradation in water, sediment or soil is not necessary.
