Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

J. Rudio (1998) conducted a ready biodegradability test on heliotropin (piperonal) according to OECD 301 F. As suggested in the OECD 301 F method, the toxicity of the test chemical for the inoculum is checked.

The result of the study is that the test substance is not inhibitory to the microorganism at the concentration used (100 mg/L).

As the study was conducted at 100 mg/L, the test substance was essentially undegraded at the end of day 1, and the toxicity control showed no inhibition at the end of day 1, it can be inferred in this case that there was no inhibition at 3hrs i.e., the ASIT 3h EC50 >100 mg/L.
