Description of key information

The flash point of Dimethyl(propyl)amine is -20°C at 1013 hPa.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
-20 °C

Additional information

Several reliable data bases reported the flash point of Dimethyl(propyl)amine as results from experimental studies to be <-20°C to -11°C. GESTIS and Hommel reported the flash point of Dimethyl(propyl)amine to be -11 °C at 1013 hPa. The value which originates from CHEMSAFE (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, Braunschweig) originates from an experimental study and is <-20°C at atm. pressure. Thus and a worst case view the flash point of <-20°C at atm. pressure is regarded to be reliable for Dimethyl(propyl)amine.

The following classification criteria is met:

Flammable liquids, Category 2 (highly flammable liquids and vapour) of EU CLP: flash point <= 23 °C and initial boiling point > 35 °C
