Additional information

Considering the log Koc values reported for this substance (i.e., 1.5-2.1), low adsorption of methyl hexanoate (CAS No. 106-70-7) to soil and sediment particles is anticipated. Based on its water solubility (1330 mg/L) and Henry's Law Constant value (37.5 Pa m3/mol), if released into the environment methyl hexanoate will be mainly distributed in the aquatic compartment, with some potential for volatilization into air. Nevertheless, due to its ready biodegradability and susceptibility to undergo indirect photodegradation (by reaction with OH-radicals) in air, persistence of this substance in the environment is unlikely.
