Hydrolysis:

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex IX, the hydrolysis study (required in section 9.2.2.1.) does not need to be conducted if the substance is readily biodegradable.

Biodegradation:

As the substance is readily biodegradable in accordance with the column 2 of REACH Annex IX there is no need to conduct the biodegradation in water and sediment study (section 9.2.1.2. and 9.2.1.4.) and the biodegradation in soil study (section 9.2.1.3.).

Bioaccumulation:

A study (Klimish 1) on the estimation of the partition coefficient n-octanol/water (Kow) by HPLC method (according to the OECD guideline 117) showed a log Kow below 0.3. According to the column 2 of the annex IX section 9.3.2, the substances is not considered to be bioaccumulative if the Log Kow is below 3 and there is no need to conduct additional test on aquatic species.

As a consequence, it is not required to test additionally the bioaccumulation properties of the substance on aquatic species.

 

Adsorption/desorption:
In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VIII, the adsoption/desorption study (required in section 9.3.1.) does not need to be conducted if based on the physicochemical properties the substance can be expected to have a low potential of adsorption. The logarithmic partition coefficient (n-octanol/water) of the test item was determined to be below 0.3 (smallest available reference value) using the HPLC method. Moreover the substance and its relevant degradation products decompose rapidely. As a consequence this part can be waived.
