Description of key information

Water Solubility [3-(diethoxymethylsilyl)propylamine]: 5900 mg/l at 20°C (QSAR)
Water Solubility [3-(dihydroxymethylsilyl)propylamine]: very soluble (1E+06 mg/l) at 20°C (QSAR)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
5 900 mg/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The requirement to test the substance for water solubility is waived on the basis that it hydrolyses rapidly to form 3 -(dihydroxymethylsilyl)propylamine and ethanol. However, the water solubility of the substance was predicted as soluble in water (5900 mg/l) and the silanol hydrolysis product has been estimated to be very soluble in water (1E+06 mg/l) at 20°C.

Ethanol is miscible with water (Riddick JA 1986).
