Additional information

The acute aquatic toxicity has been tested for Reactive Red 239.

The 96 h LC50obtained in static studies on zebra fish (Brachydanio rerio) > 500 mg/L and the 96 hour NOEC was 500 mg/l. The 24 h EC50in a static Daphnia magna immobilisation test was 37.2 mg/L (extrapolated value). However, the structural analogue SA01 assessed in a semi-static Daphnia magna immobilisation test system over an exposure period of 48 hours had no toxic effect on daphnids at up to at least 160 mg/L. In addition, in the 21-day semi-static test in Daphnia magna a NOEC of 30 mg/L was determined for immobility and the NOEC for reproduction was above or equal to 30 mg/L. The validity of the result of the acute toxicity study in Daphnia magna is therefore questionale.

The 72 -hour toxicity in green algae (sacenedesmus subspicatus) showed a NOEC of > 320 mg/l.
