Description of key information

Adsorption/Desorption

Adsorption to solid soil phase is not expected. For 4-hydroxybutyl acrylate Koc values were calculated to be 10 L/kg (log Koc = 1.0) and 7.481 L/kg (log Koc = 0.8740) when based on the MCI methodand the log Kow method, respectively.

Henry's law constant

The substance will not evaporate into the atmosphere from the water surface. For 4-hydroxybutyl acrylate the Henry's Law constant is calculated to be 8.02E-004Pa·m³/mole based on the Bond Contribution method.

Distribution modelling

Model calculations show that the majority of substance will partition into water (99.9%) and some into soil (0.0465%) and sediment (0.0470%). Negligible amounts are predicted to partition into air.
