After 48 hours, the number of immobile daphnids were determined to be 2, 11, 20 and 20 at test concentrations of 12.5, 25, 50 and 100 mg/L, respectively. See 'Any other information on materials and methods incl. tables'. At the lowest two test concentrations, all daphnids remained mobile during the whole exposure period.

Additional information

The acute toxicity to aquatic invertebrates was determined in a study according to EU Method C.2 (BASF, 1989). In this study, daphnids (D. magna, 20 per concentration) were exposed to nominal concentrations of 0 (control), 3.125, 6.25, 12.5, 25.0, 50 and 100 mg/L for 48 hours under static conditions. Test concentrations were not analytically verified. Immobilization was recorded after test start, 3, 6, 24 and 48 hours exposure. No immobilization was observed in the 3.125 and 6.25 mg/L groups. At a test concentration of 12.5 and 25 mg/L cumulative immobility was 10% and 55%, respectively. Finally, in the 50 and 100 mg/L test group 48-h after exposure 100% immobilization was observed. Based on these findings the 48-h EC50 value was determined at 22.53 mg/L.
