Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A weight of evidence approach was used the address this endpoint as no single study was considered reliable enough to be used alone.
The vapour pressure of the substance was found to be 0.04 hPa at 20 °C; Summer et al. (2003) and Ciba-Geigy (1981).
The vapour pressure of the substance was found to be 0.3 hpa at 25 °C according to Dobson et al. (2006)
The vapour pressure was also determined using the MPBWIN v 1.43 calculation method, although this method is not validated for substances containing a metal ion in their structure. This gave vapour pressure values of 0.0999 hpa at 20 °C and 0.167 hpa at 25 °C.
van Dokkum and Huwer (2006) gave a vapour pressure value of 0.023 mmHg (ca. 0.03 hpa) but did not quote a temperature for the study.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0.04 hPa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

A number of public domain references were obtained with all data were assigned a reliability score of 4 in accordance with the principles for assessing data quality as outlined in Klimisch (1997). An MPBWIN calculation was assigned a score or 3 as the estimation method used has not been validated for substances containing a metal in the structure.

The studies show as expected, a higher vapour pressure at 25 °C than at 20 °C.

In view of the agreement in vapour pressure values at 20 °C, 0.04 hPa was selected as the key value for vapour pressure.
