Additional information

The fate of tetraethylene glycol in the environment is governed by its rapid degradation in the atmosphere via reaction with photochemically-generated hydroxyl radical, and in the aquatic and terrestrial environments by its rapid biodegradation. The substance does not possess chromophoric functional groups which would enable direct photolytic degradation in the atmospheric or aquatic environments. The substance also does not possess functional groups or molecular bonds which are susceptible to hydrolysis.
