Conclusion on classification

The substance is not classified for the environment based on results from acute toxicity tests in three species (fish, daphnia and algae), plus physico-chemical properties such as water solubility and partition coefficient.

Acute toxicity testing in fish, daphnia and algae resulted in the following results:

Fish 96-Hour LC50: greater than 100 mg ai/L.

Daphnia magna 48 -Hour EC50: greater than 100 mg/L

Algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata): 72 hr ErC50(growth rate): 780 mg ai/L

96 hr ErC50(growth rate): 1400 mg ai/L

All results are above the threshold for environmental classification (L(E) C50<100 mg/L) for Acute/Chronic Category 1 and Chronic categories 2 and 3.

A classification of Chronic Category 4 is also not applicable, as although the substance is not rapidly degradable, it is highly water soluble and has a low log Pow (0.491) indicating a low potential for bioaccumulation.
