Description of key information

The pKa of pyrrolidine was found to be 11.31 at 25 ºC.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

pKa at 20°C:
11.31

Additional information

Data are available from a database and from QSAR: In Cabani et al. (1971) a value of 11.31 at 25 ºC is given (referenced in HSDB). The pKa of pyrroldine was calculated to be 10.97 at 25°C (QSAR: SPARC). This calculated value is in line with the values in the database and the experimental value. The value from Cabani et al. (1971) is regarded as the key value because the measured value is preferred above the calculated value.
