Description of key information

Based on a weight-of-evidence approach, the substance has a boiling point of 87 °C.

Additional information

Because the data from the different data sources are very similar, a weight-of-evidence approach is justified. An overall average value of 87 ºC was calculated from the average of the given range of 88.5 - 89 ºC (88.75 ºC) from the Sax&Lewis handbook (1989) and the Merck Index (Windholz et al., 1983) and 86.56ºC of the CRC handbook (Lide, 2006; cited in the HSDB database). Two further data bases were consulted: in the GESTIS database, a boiling point of 87 ºC was given. In the Beilstein Handbook of Chemistry, a publication (Helm, 1958) was cited with a boiling point of 86.5 ºC.
