Description of key information

The toxicity of Pyrrolidine to aquatic algae was assessed according to OECD guideline No. 201 and GLP principles. Nominal exposure concentrations were the following:
Range-finding test: 0.1, 1.0, 10 and 100 mg/L;
Final test: 1.0, 3.2, 10, 32 and 100 mg/L
The EC50 for growth rate reduction (ERC50: 0 -72h) was 39 mg/L and the EC10 (ERC10: 0 -72h) was 10 mg/L. The EC50 for yield inhibition (EYC50: 0-72h) was 16 mg/L and the EC10 for yield inhibition (EYC10: 0-72h) was 4.2 mg/L. All criteria for acceptability of the test were met according to OECD guideline No. 201 and the test is categorized as reliable without restrictions.

The toxicity of Pyrrolidine to marine algae (Skeletonema costatum) was assessed according to ISO 1025. The ErC50 resultet in 3.1 mg/L after 72h.
The test was categorized as reliable with restrictions.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

39 mg/L
EC50 for marine water algae:
3.1 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
