Conclusion on classification

According to reliable short term studies conducted on fish, invertebrates and algae CYASORB® UV-2908 is not acutely toxic to aquatic organisms at maximum attainable concentrations.

CYASORB® UV-2908 is not rapidly degradable but the results of an aerobic soil simulation test show a moderate degradation rate with a DT50 value of 117 days. Based on the very low water solubility (<10 µg/L) and extremely high log Pow (12.3), the bioaccumulation potential is expected to be very low. This is confirmed by the results of a bioaccumulation study (equivalent to OECD 305) which show a BCF of 15-36 in Cyprinus carpio. Therefore CYASORB® UV-2908 does not fulfil the criteria for the environmental hazard category chronic 4 according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
