Description of key information

There are no long-term toxicity data available for fish exposed to Diisobutyl Carbinol (DIBC).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Diisobutyl Carbinol (DIBC) is classified as readily biodegradable with high solubility, low vapor pressure, an estimated Log Kow of 3.08 and a low potential for bioaccumulation. According to REACH Annex IX requirements, long-term toxicity testing shall only be considered when the chemical safety assessment indicates the need for further investigations. The chemical safety assessment, according to Annex I, does not indicate a need to investigate any other effects since DIBC has no hazard classification based on available toxicity data. Therefore long-term toxicity testing with fish is waived for DIBC.
