25 °C

Additional information

No experimental data on 2-propylheptyl acrylate are available. Therefore, the hydrolysis potential was assessed by QSAR calculation with EpiWin (v4.00) and by experimental data on the structural analogue 2 -ethylhexyl acrylate.

In a hydrolysis study conducted by BASF AG according to US EPA 40 CFR Ch. 1 (7-1-96 edition) § 796.3500, pages 96 - 101, the half-life of 2-ethylhexyl acrylate (structural analogue) in water at pH 7 was determined to be approximately 9 d (= 210 h). At higher pH values hydrolysis was even more rapid (t1/2 at pH 11 = 18.5 h). The half-life under acidic conditions was very slow with a value of 533 hours (ca. 22 d).

The estimation with 2 -Propylheptyl acrylate using EpiWin (v4.00) resulted in a half-life of 16.5 years at pH 7 and 25°C.
