Studies are available for toxicity to daphnia, algae and activated sludge microorganisms. A QSAR estimation was conducted for acute toxicity to fish.

The 96-hour LC50 of phenylethyl acetate to fish was estimated to be 10.514 mg/L using ECOSAR v1.0.

The 48-hour EC50 of phenylethyl acetate to Daphnia magna was determined to be 36.6 mg/L.

The 72-hour EC50 of phenylethyl acetate to algae was found to be 40 mg/L and the NOEC was found to be 4.4 mg/L.

The 3-hour EC50 to STP microorganisms was found to be 1000 mg/L.
