Description of key information

The water solubility was determined in a test according to OECD 105 to be 317 mg/L at 25°C. In Soerensen buffer (pH 8) the solubility increased drastically to 13 g/L at 20°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
317 mg/L
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

The strong dependency of the solubility from pH can be explained by the molecular structure. The carboxyl group dissociate at neutral or alkaline pH values which leads to a high solubility, in contrast to acidic pH values where the carboxyl groups are not dissociated.
