Description of key information

The EC50 at 24 and 48 hours was determined to >10.94 mg/L. The NOEC was determined to >=10.94 mg/L.
The EC50 of >100 mg/L is the matching loading rate.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The acute toxicity of Melam on immobilisation of Daphnia magna was assessed during the exposure period of 48 hours under static test conditions. The nominal concentration was set at 100 mg/L and the control group was prepared for this study.

The concentration of the test substance was analyzed, as a result, the concentration at the end of exposure (after 48 hours) was within +/- 20 % of the measured initial values (0 hours). Therefore, all test results were determined through the measured values at initial exposure.

In conclusion, the EC50 at 24 and 48 hours was determined to >10.94 mg/L. The NOEC was determined to >=10.94 mg/L.The EC50 of >100 mg/L is the matching loading rate. The EC50 is greater than the figure forced in the field "Value used for CSA" and cannot be entered as a relative result (>100 mg/L).
