The acute fish toxicity of Formaldehyde, polymer with benzenamine, hydrogenated was determined according to OECD Test Guideline No 203 with Poecilia reticulata as test species. The value of the LC50 (96 h) for fish (Poecilia reticulata) was determined to be 63 mg/l.

The toxicity of Formaldehyde, polymer with benzenamine, hydrogenated to Daphnia magna was determined according to OECD Test Guideline 202. Tested concentrations were 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 and 128 mg/l. Analytical monitoring was done using TOC determination. Potassium dichromate was used as positive control substance. The EC50 values after 24 h and 48 h were calculated utilizing the Trimmed Spearman-Kabler method (v. 1.5) with 95% confidence interval. The EC50 (48 h) concentration determined is 15.4 mg/l.

The toxicity of Formaldehyde, polymer with benzenamine, hydrogenated to freshwater algae (Desmodesmus subspicatus) was determined according to EU Method C.3 (Algal Inhibition test). Tested concentrations were 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 and 128 mg/l. Analytical monitoring was done using HPLC. Potassium dichromate was used as positive control substance. The EC50 (72 h) determined is 43.94 mg/l, the EC10 (72 h) is 1.2 mg/l.

The toxicity of Formaldehyde, polymer with benzenamine, hydrogenated to activated sludge microorganisms was determined in a GLP study according to EC method C.11 (2008). On the basis of the effective concentrations describing the respiration inhibition of activated sludge caused by the test substance, Formaldehyde, polymer with benzenamine, hydrogenated was found to have an EC50 (3 h) of 187 mg/l (95% confidence interval: 137 – 251 mg/l).
