Additional information

According to OECD 301D, N-(3 -aminopropyl)iminodiethanol (APDEA) can be considered as not readily biodegradable. Due to the lack of hydrolysable groups, APDEA is not subject to hydrolysis.

Based on intrinsic properties of APDEA (high water solubility and very low log Pow), the substance is not expected to bioaccumulate in organism tissues. For the same reasons, the substance is not expected to sorb en soil particles. Indeed, the Koc of APDEA has been determined using a calculation method developed for ionizable organic chemicals. Log Koc has been determined to be 1.04 - 1.71 for pH 5 - 8.
