Based on the test results of a valid ready biodegradation study (OECD 301 B) conducted with Fatty acids, C8-18 and C18-unsatd., esters with neopentyl glycol (CAS No. 85186-86-3), the test substance can be regarded as readily biodegradable according to the OECD criteria. The substance is thus expected to be rapidly degraded by microorganisms in both aquatic and terrestrial environments. Therefore, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, 9.2.1.2 – 9.2.1.4, further simulation testing for water and sediment or soil biodegradation is not necessary.
