First-aid measures

General information

Ensure that medical personnel are aware of the material(s) involved, and take precautions to protect themselves.

Description of first aid measures

Inhalation

Move to fresh air. Call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician if you feel unwell.

Skin contact

Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower. Get medical attention if irritation develops and persists.

Eye contact

Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Get medical attention if irritation develops and persists.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth. If ingestion of a large amount does occur, call a poison control centre immediately.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Not available.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media

Water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide.

Water. Do not use water jet as an extinguisher, as this will spread the fire.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Fire may produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases. Container may explode in heat of fire.

Advice for firefighters

Special protective equipment for firefighters

Firefighters must use standard protective equipment including flame retardant coat, helmet with face shield, gloves, rubber boots, and in enclosed spaces, SCBA. Structural firefighters protective clothing will only provide limited protection.

Special firefighting procedures

In case of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes. Move containers from fire area if you can do so without risk.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures For non-emergency personnel

Keep unnecessary personnel away. Ventilate closed spaces before entering them.

Environmental precautions

No special environmental precautions required.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

ELIMINATE all ignition sources (no smoking, flares, sparks or flames in immediate area). Keep combustibles (wood, paper, oil etc) away from spilled material.

Large Spills: Dike the spilled material, where this is possible. Cover with plastic sheet to prevent spreading. Absorb spillage with non-combustible, absorbent material. Following product recovery, flush area with water.

Small Spills: Clean surface thoroughly to remove residual contamination.

Never return spills in original containers for re-use.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

DO NOT handle, store or open near an open flame, sources of heat or sources of ignition. Protect material from direct sunlight. Do not smoke. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. All equipment used when handling the product must be grounded. Use non-sparking tools and explosion-proof equipment. Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands thoroughly after handling.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

The pressure in sealed containers can increase under the influence of heat. Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. This material can accumulate static charge which may cause spark and become an ignition source. Prevent electrostatic charge build-up by using common bonding and grounding techniques. Keep at temperature not exceeding 55 °C. Store in cool place. Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed. Keep in an area equipped with sprinklers. Keep out of the reach of children.
