Endpoint:
explosive properties of explosives
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties

Description of key information

Not applicable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

The test method for the determination of the explosive properties of a substance as described for liquid materials in test guideline A.14 of Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 was replaced by a theoretical based evaluation. The chemical structure of SIKA Hardener MH does not contain chemical groups or structural elements in the molecule, which may lead to the conclusion that explosive properties have to be expected. Therefore, explosive properties are not expected. No experimental determination was performed.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008

Based on the structure of the molecule and taking into account the provisions laid down in Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP), as amended for the twelfth time in Regulation (EU) 2019/521, the test item does not have to be classified with respect to explosiveness.
