Description of key information

76 ± 1 °C at 101.3 kPa, OJEC Method A.9; ASTM D93 (Reimer, 2004)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
76 °C

Additional information

The flash point of the low melting point test substance was determined according to OJEC Method A.9; ASTM D 93 using a Penskey-Martens closed cup apparatus. The observed flash point was adjusted to 101.3 kPa using the test pressure and the calculation method given in ASTM D93, 2000.

The test material flash point was determined as 76 ± 1 °C at 101.3 kPa relative to an n-heptane reference substance of 138 ± 2 °C at 101.3 kPa. This was not significantly different to the reference substance reported value in ASTM D93; indicating method accuracy.
