Additional information

One ready biodegradation study is available for Fatty acids, C8-10, 2-ethylhexyl esters (CAS No. 649747-80-8).

This key ready biodegradability study was carried out with Fatty acids, C8-10, 2-ethylhexyl esters (CAS No. 649747-80-8), following OECD Guideline 301 B (Bouillon, 2010). Sludge from a domestic STP was used as inoculum. During the 28-day test period, biodegradation reached 79.8%, based on CO2 evolution. The 10-day window criterion, defined for mono-constituent substances, was met, although it would not be required since the substance is a UVCBs.

In conclusion, Fatty acids, C8-10, 2-ethylhexyl esters can be considered readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria.
